In fact, I recently set up a pc for one of our team members and things went smoothly, but our new PCs are having major issues trying to find the installed ISAM for dBASE IV. We have upgraded the Office version to the new Office 365, but that shouldnt affect the installable ISAMs as far as I can tell - and I also installed the Access 2010 runtimes. Its failing on a DBEngine.OpenDatabase call, the Connect is set to dBASE IV;, then the rest of the command is openDatabase(PathToFolderOnServer, false, false, dBASE IV;) I get the following error: cannot find installable ISAM. Ive set up connections in the 32bit ODBC admin console, and have Intersolvs DataDirect Explorer installed, and its failing on both sets of drivers (Intersolvs and Microsofts). Again, this is only on this one new machine - everything else works. Id also consider a testbed in whatever language you want and using the connection string from to insure that the driver is working on that level. Could Not Find Able Isam Vb6 Software At AllUnfortunately, with regards to connection strings - we have none in the software at all. We just use the OpenDatabase call with a folder and the dbase identifier. Redoing the database calls across the entire suite is unrealistic, but if I can get something working, Id be happy just to get it going level 1 2 points 1 year ago We still have dBase running in our company, although we are just about to replace it. Currently, all of our office workers have newer Win 10 64-bit PCs. In order to work with dBase, we had to install VirtualBox and give each of the users a virtual Windows XP. This is temporary though, as we have built and are now testing our new replacement application. Our situation is probably a lot different from yours, so this may not be the fix you need. But, if newer computers and OSs are the problem, you can try VMs as a last resort. ![]() Members 11 Online Created Oct 28, 2009 Join help Reddit App Reddit coins Reddit premium Reddit gifts about careers press advertise blog Terms Content policy Privacy policy Mod policy Reddit Inc 2020.
